About 200,000 foreign migrants have been
illegally crossing the border from Mexico each month. Are you very concerned,
somewhat concerned, not very concerned, or not concerned at all about that
level?
Is the federal government doing about as much
as it should to control the border with Mexico, or should it adopt stricter
policies to reduce the flow of illegal crossings?
Should most people who cross that border with
Mexico illegally be returned to Mexico or allowed to live and work in the US
until requested to appear in court?
Congress is debating Pres. Biden's Build Back
Better plan. Congressional Democrats hope to pass the nearly $2 trillion
dollar legislation through the budget reconciliation process to avoid a
filibuster from Senate Republicans. How closely are you following this news?
In general, do you support or oppose the
Build Back Better legislation?
Leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives
have added a provision to the Build Back Better bill that would offer 10 years
of work permits and legal status to approximately 8 million illegal immigrants.
Opponents say this would encourage more illegal crossings at the border, while
supporters say it won't make much difference. What seems more likely to you?
Which of the following four positions is closest to your own
view: 1. You support the 10-year amnesty for illegal immigrants in the
Build Back Better Bill, 2. you support the amnesty only if it includes
additional provisions to stop future illegal immigration, 3. no amnesty should
be considered until the border is under control, or 4. you oppose amnesty under
any condition?
Would you
be more inclined to vote for a member of Congress who supported work permits
for approximately 8 million illegal immigrants without addressing the current level
of illegal border crossings, or would you be less likely, or would it not make
much difference?
In trying
to control illegal immigration, should the government mandate that all
employers use the federal electronic E-Verify system to help ensure that they
hire only legal workers for U.S. jobs?
Do you
favor legal immigrants being allowed to bring with them only a spouse and minor
children, or do you favor them also eventually bringing in other adult
relatives in a process that can include extended family and their spouses'
families?
Do you
favor allowing illegal border crossers and visa overstays to eventually bring
in their adult relatives that can include extended family and their spouses’
families?
When
businesses say they are having trouble finding Americans to take jobs in construction,
manufacturing, hospitality and other service work,
what is generally best for the country?
Is it better for businesses to raise the pay and try harder to recruit
non-working Americans even if it causes prices to rise, or is it better for the
government to bring in new foreign workers to help keep business costs and
prices down?
