COVID-19: Democrats Still Support Mask Requirements
Nearly two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, many Americans have grown tired of mandatory mask policies, but Democratic voters remain convinced that masks are effective and should be required in public places, including schools.
A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that only 58% of Likely U.S. voters believe masks are effective at preventing the spread of COVID-19, including 31% who think masks are Very Effective. Thirty-nine percent (39%) don’t think masks are effective at preventing spread of the coronavirus, including 20% who think masks are Not At All Effective against the disease. The survey of 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on February 9-10, 2022 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
