Few Voters Think Tim Scott Can Win GOP Nomination
South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott expressed an optimistic message in announcing his 2024 presidential campaign, but most voters don’t think he can win the Republican nomination.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 21% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Scott is likely to end up being the Republican presidential nominee in 2024, including just eight percent (8%) who see a Scott nomination as Very Likely. Sixty-two percent (62%) don’t think it’s likely the black South Carolina senator will get the 2024 GOP nomination, including 32% who say it is Not At All Likely. Another 16% are not sure. The survey of 1,003 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on June 7-8 and 11, 2023 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research.
