56% See More Grown Children Living With Parents As Bad for Economy
Fewer Americans know families who have grown children living at home these days, but most still view this practice as a negative for the economy.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 77% of American Adults believe it is more common now for grown children to live with their parents than it was 20 years ago. That’s down from 86% in November 2011. Just nine percent (9%) don’t think this practice is more common, while 14% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The national survey of 1,000 Adults was conducted on November 16-17, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC . See methodology.
