Younger Voters More Influenced by Social Media
The political influence of social media has grown in recent years, especially voters under 40.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just eight percent (8%) of Likely U.S. Voters say they rarely or never go online and use the Internet, unchanged from June 2020. Sixty-seven percent (67%) go online every day or nearly every day, while another 15% use the Internet several times a week. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,013 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on May 21-23, 2023 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
