What They Told Us: Reviewing Last Week’s Key Polls
In surveys last week, this is what America told Rasmussen Reports:
- President Biden ended the polling week with a daily job approval of 49%.
- Only a third of voters believe former President Barack Obama made racial relations better in America, but a larger percentage agree with his claim that “right wing media” are frightening white people about demographic changes.
- Former Vice President Mike Pence is viewed favorably by most Republican voters, but given a choice, nearly two-thirds still say their party should be more like Donald Trump.
- As investigators pursue evidence that the COVID-19 virus may have originated in a Chinese research laboratory, many voters doubt that Dr. Anthony Fauci has told the truth about American funding of such research.
- Most Americans say their state government has done a better job of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic than has the federal government.
- Most Americans believe it’s important for young people to work during the summer, and don’t think it will be very difficult for teens to find jobs in the current economy.
- Economic confidence fell to 118.8 in this month’s Rasmussen Reports Economic Index, down nearly five points from May, the first decline following three consecutive months of rising confidence.
- Most Americans have never seen a UFO and don’t think mysterious space objects are a threat to our national security, but they do believe intelligent life exists on other planets.
- Most Americans consider themselves religious and believe in an afterlife, but both views have significantly declined among those under 40.
- Thirty-seven percent (37%) of Likely U.S. Voters think the country is heading in the right direction.
